Understanding Male Baldness
What Causes Male Pattern Baldness?
Male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) affects over 50% of men by the age of 50. It is caused by a combination of genetic sensitivity to DHT (dihydrotestosterone) and the gradual miniaturisation of genetically susceptible hair follicles on the scalp.
DHT — converted from testosterone by the enzyme 5-alpha reductase — binds to androgen receptors in the hair follicle, causing it to progressively shrink. Each growth cycle produces thinner, shorter hair until the follicle eventually stops producing visible hair altogether.
The earlier treatment begins, the better the outcome. Follicles that are miniaturising (producing thin hair) can be rescued. Follicles that have been dormant for many years are much harder to reactivate. This is why acting at the first signs of thinning produces dramatically better results than waiting until significant baldness has occurred.
Why avoid Finasteride? Finasteride (Propecia) blocks DHT systemically — which means it can cause sexual side effects (reduced libido, erectile dysfunction) in a significant percentage of men. When stopped, all benefits are lost within 12 months. Homeopathic treatment works through advanced homoeopathic principles and carries none of these side effects. For men concerned about fertility or sexual health, it is a far preferable option.
Our Treatment Protocol
1
Advanced Homeopathy
A prescription based on your complete constitutional picture — addressing the androgenic sensitivity, general health, stress levels, and any associated conditions. Aims to slow DHT's effect on follicles.
2
LLLT (Low-Level Laser Therapy)
Available at the Udaipur clinic. Clinically proven photobiomodulation that stimulates ATP production in follicular cells — directly counteracting the miniaturisation process. 20–30 minute sessions, completely painless.
3
Scalp Detox & Follicle Activation
Medical-grade scalp treatment to remove DHT-laden sebum from follicles, improve blood supply, and create a healthier scalp environment for regrowth.
4
Dietary & Lifestyle Guidance
Specific nutritional recommendations to support hair health — including reducing inflammatory dietary triggers that accelerate androgenic hair loss.
FAQs — Male Pattern Baldness
I'm 25 and my hairline is receding rapidly. Is it too late?+
At 25, you are at exactly the right time to begin treatment. Early onset male pattern baldness (before 30) tends to progress faster, but follicles at this stage are still very much rescuable. Treatment at 25 will yield dramatically better long-term results than waiting until 35 or 40. The earlier the intervention, the better the outcome.
Can homeopathy replace a hair transplant?+
For stages 1–4, yes — in many cases, conservative treatment with homeopathy and LLLT can achieve results that eliminate the need for a transplant. For stages 5–7 with extensive baldness, conservative treatment can slow progression and maintain the existing hair, but a transplant may still be the better option for density restoration in severely affected areas. Dr. Meenakshi will give you an honest assessment at consultation.
I tried Minoxidil for 2 years but stopped. My hair fell again. Can homeopathy help?+
Yes. Minoxidil dependency is one of the most common reasons men seek homeopathic treatment. When Minoxidil is stopped, all regrowth is lost within 3–6 months — which is frustrating and costly. Advanced Homeopathy works differently — it addresses the internal factors driving hair loss. You can transition from Minoxidil to homeopathy gradually, with the advanced homoeopathic treatment maintaining results even after Minoxidil is discontinued.
